As a district of Marbella in Málaga, Nueva Andalucía is renowned for its abundance of golf courses and residential developments, earning it the title of Marbella’s Golf Valley. Nueva Andalucía is located just inland from Puerto Banús. It extends northward towards the AP-7, bordered by San Pedro de Alcántara to the west and various regions of Marbella to the east.

• The designation “Nueva Andalucía” (New Andalusia) was selected by developer José Banús in 1964 to represent a contemporary and innovative vision for the Costa del Sol, setting it apart from the nearby traditional villages.

  In addition, José Banús was responsible for the construction of Puerto Banús, the marina that commenced operations in 1970 and significantly contributed to Marbella’s recognition on the international jet-set scene. The marina and Nueva Andalucía were conceived as an integrated luxury project.

  Aloha Golf Club, which was designed by the renowned Spanish architect Javier Arana, opened its doors in 1975 and has been the venue for the Andalucía Open on the European Tour on several occasions (2007, 2008, 2012).

  Lago de las Tortugas (Turtle Lake) derives its name from the freshwater turtles inhabiting the lake, making it a favored location for families and joggers, offering picturesque views of La Concha mountain.

  The Plaza de Toros (bullring) located near Centro Plaza was constructed in 1965 and continues to host sporadic events, although bullfighting has become significantly less prevalent since the inception of Nueva Andalucía.
